What we are looking for
We are looking for a motivated Structural Engineer-in-Training to join our team. This role is a chance to build a broad structural foundation early, working directly with senior engineers across a wide range of project types rather than being limited to one niche.
The ideal candidate is a recent graduate, or has up to four years of experience, and is registered or eligible for registration as an E.I.T. You would be comfortable preparing calculations and drawings under the direction of a senior engineer, and interested in learning the inspection and assessment side of the work as well as design.
Education and professional experience required
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil / Structural Engineering.
- Registration, or eligibility for registration, as an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) with APEGA, EGBC, or an equivalent provincial association.
- 0–4 years of experience in a structural or civil engineering role, including co-op or internship terms.
Responsibilities include
- Preparing structural steel, concrete, and timber design calculations and analysis under the direction of a senior engineer.
- Assisting with structural and technical assessments and reports.
- Preparing drawings, sketches, and markups to support project deliverables.
- Attending site visits, inspections, and assessments alongside senior staff.
- Supporting senior engineers and project managers with day-to-day project coordination.
Qualifications & experience needed
- A working understanding of structural engineering principles and an interest in applying them across steel, reinforced concrete, and timber.
- Exposure to structural analysis software (e.g. Risa, SAP2000) through coursework or work experience.
- Detail oriented with the ability to focus on technical problems for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with projects of varying size and complexity.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Must have a can-do attitude and be a true self starter, willing to dig deep to find solutions.
- Must have excellent communication skills and be willing to ask questions.
- Must be a team player and have the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Standout experience that we would like to see
- Experience with AutoCAD or Revit.
- Exposure to FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and/or dynamic analysis.
- Co-op, internship, or summer experience with a consulting engineering firm.
- Field or construction experience of any kind.
How to apply
Please submit both of the following:
- A cover letter indicating why you would be a fit for this role.

What we are looking for
We are looking for a Structural Designer to produce the drawings and models behind our structural work. This role sits at the centre of how a project actually gets built, translating engineering calculations and markups into clear, coordinated, constructible documents.
The ideal candidate has a technologist or drafting background, is confident in AutoCAD, and enjoys working closely with engineers to resolve detailing questions rather than drafting to instruction alone. Experience in Revit is an asset.
Education and professional experience required
- A diploma in Civil / Structural Engineering Technology, engineering design and drafting, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2–7 years of experience producing structural drawings in a consulting, fabrication, or construction environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Responsibilities include
- Producing structural steel, concrete, and timber drawings from engineering calculations, sketches, and markups.
- Developing plans, sections, elevations, and connection details to a constructible level of definition.
- Coordinating drawings with architectural, mechanical, and other discipline models to resolve conflicts before they reach the field.
- Incorporating review comments and maintaining drawing revisions and issue records.
- Supporting engineers during construction with sketches, markups, and as-built updates.
Qualifications & experience needed
- Strong working knowledge of structural drafting conventions, detailing standards, and drawing organization.
- Able to read and interpret engineering calculations, specifications, and architectural drawings.
- Must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable raising detailing questions directly with engineers.
- Must be a team player and have the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Standout experience that we would like to see
- Experience with Revit — a strong asset.
- Experience with steel detailing or shop drawing review.
- A C.E.T. designation, or progress toward one, with ASET, ASTTBC, or an equivalent provincial association.
- Field or construction experience of any kind.
